Q: Why should I put an underwater light on my vessel?
A: Underwater lights are a great addition to your vessel for many reasons. They enhance the overall appearance of your yacht and allow you to enjoy the beauties of the ocean even after the sun goes down. Underwater lights allow you to attract fish (a favorite tool of fisherman) and illuminate the natural wonders that lie beneath the water's surface. Underwater lights are also great tools to increase security on your vessel.
Q: What is the difference between Xtreme Underwater Lighting products as compared to others in the marketplace?
A: We are on our 12th year with a zero return rate! We have had absolutely no underwater light returned due to corrosion or rust!
Xtreme Underwater Lighting uses only the finest available marine grade materials for all of our products (including 316L Stainless Steel, Marine Grade Aluminum and Titanium).
We don't cut corners in creating products tough enough to stand up to the harsh elements of the marine environment yet filled with design elements to enhance the beauty of your vessel. Our products are rust and corrosion-proof as well as cost effective to install.
We have over 30 years of experience in the marine industry that encompasses an in-depth knowledge of the needs of the yachting community and extensive hands-on experience working with large vessels.
All of our products are: CNC-machined from the finest marine grade materials including 316L stainless steel, 5086 marine grade aluminum and titanium (upon request).Rust and Corrosion Proof.Made in the USA.Easy and Cost Effective to Install.
Q: Can the lamp be changed from inside?
A: Yes, all regular maintenance for the thru hull underwater lights can be carried out from within the hull.
Q: How often do I need to change the lamp?
A: For metal Halide every 6000 to 8000 hours

Q: Where can I access specification drawings and installation instructions?
A: There is a installations tab above, you may contact us with any additional questions or concerns
Q: What is your warranty policy?
A: Our underwater lights are guaranteed for 2 years from purchase date. All other lighting products are guaranteed for life (not including electrical or light source). This guarantee does not include removal, installation or lamp life. Proof of purchase is required.
Q: How far below the water line should an underwater light be installed?
A: Underwater lights should be installed approximately 12" below the water line.
Q: Should I put more than 1 Underwater Light on my vessel?
A: Even 1 underwater light is a great enhancement to your vessel and your overall yachting experience. Depending on your budget, however, three or more lights will work together to create the optimal effect.
Q: What is the beam spread for the Xtreme Beam?
A: Because the Xtreme Beam is under the water's surface and water reflects light, the entire surrounding area will become illuminated.
Q: What are the benefits of using borosilicate glass for the lens?
A: Borocialiate is the most reliable cost effective lens available for this application. Using sapphire or crystal only drives the cost up. However we do offer this as an option for custom orders
Q: What is the difference between Stainless Steel and Aluminum?
A: Stainless is used on fiberglass and steel hulls or can be used on aluminum hulls provided the two metals are isolated. Aluminum is used only on Aluminum hulls.
Q: Do you sell an LED underwater light?
A: YES
Q: Are the lights a thru-hull fitting?
A: Yes and No...we also offer surface mount fixtures for yachts that do not have access from the rear.
Q: Do the underwater lights need to be installed with special cabling?
A: Yes our lights have cable attached to them already. Custom lengths are available prior to ordering
Q: Can thru hull lights be left on while the boat is running at speed?
A: Yes all of our lights can be used while underway
Q: Can they be serviced from the inside?
A: Yes
Q: How do I protect the glass from marine growth ?
A: The best method is maintenance because of our patented flush mount lens design keeping the Xtreme beam lights clean is as simple as using a boat brush every time you wash the boat simply brush the face of the light, using the lights as often as possible also helps to prevent growth
Q: Is the light waterproof?
A: Yes the lights are sealed on the front as well as the rear
Q: Do the lights have a heat switch?
A: Yes they are thermally protected.
